The California Nebula

SKU N/A Category

The California Nebula NGC 1499 ia an emission nebula located in the constellation of Perseus. The name comes from its resemblance to the US State of California. Situated at 1,000 light years from Earth the nebula cannot be observed visually with the naked eye due to its low surface brightness. Here the nebula is presented in the Hubble Palette, I think it looks like a massive wave in a stormy sea out in our Milky Way Galaxy!
