The Lagoon Nebula, Messier 8, is situated in the constellation of Sagittarius. At 4,077 light years from Earth, this is an insterstellar cloud of dense Ha, Hydrogen Alpha, a star forming region. Young stars lap the shores of the blue lagoon!
