The Dolphin Head Nebula, Sh2-308 imaged in the constellation of Cannis Major. This nebula is situated at around 5,000 light years from Earth and the bubble type feature surrounds the Wolf-Rayet star EZ Canis Majoris. This hot star is nearing the end of its life and will eventually explode as a supernova, subsuming the nebula.
