BKS Telescope Assembly – Stage 4 – The Mounting of the Scope

The dovetail bar is excellent for fast location and securing of the main scope to the single fork arm assembly. Usual position I have found is to clamp just after the HD on the rail.

Secure by tightening the Quick Release Knob.
The mounted telescope.

Starsense.

A camera system which will perform initial calibration by automatically imaging the stars to the East, South and West. By communicating to the Sky Portal App the position of the telescope is known with date and time. This provides an accurate position which then allows the telescope to accurately track celestial targets.

The StarSense Camera is mounted to the main telescope body.

Connections of all the equipment will be discussed in later blogs.
